DESCRIPTION
Phosphorus Industry China Monthly Report provides you with real-time intelligence on Chinas phosphorus and phosphorus chemicals markets.
It is a monthly published newsletter, which can be downloaded in PDF format. The subscription period is yearly, grants the subscriber 12 issues in total.
China is home to the worlds second largest reserves of phosphate rock, while the country is also a major producer of yellow phosphorus, phosphoric acid, phosphate fertilizers and fine phosphorus chemicals.
However, with Chinas reserves of high-grade phosphorite dwindling, the government is taking decisive action to curb exports and improve extraction and beneficiation technologies.
Meanwhile, downstream industries are also struggling to develop technology to produce higher-value products such as high-grade yellow phosphorus, electronic-grade phosphoric acid and phosphorus-based flame retardants.
Phosphorus Industry China Monthly Report will help you stay ahead of the game in this fast-changing market with real-time reporting on the entire phosphorus industry chain, from raw materials to end consumption. This includes:
Breaking news from China and abroad
The latest market data, including price information for raw materials, intermediates and end products, import/export data, production, consumption, operating rates, etc.
In-depth analysis of market trends, Chinese government policy, the performance of leading Chinese producers, M&A, new technologies, and more
Expert commentary from industry insiders, including regular guest articles and interviews with insiders at leading Chinese manufacturers, associations and government organizations
Headlines
In March 2017, the growth of Chinas ammonium phosphate market slowed down. The price of powdered MAP declined triggered by oversupply, while both the export price and volume of granulated MAP rose; the price of DAP maintained steady because the decreasing domestic demand restricted further increase of the price regardless of recovering exports.
The minister for the MOA, Han Changfu, highlighted the goal of decreasing the usage of chemical fertiliser on fruit, vegetables and tea, which accounts for 40% of the total fertiliser usage at present.
Wang Shuping, president of Beijing Tianchen YNC, pointed out several problems with accelerating the promotion of formula fertilising through soil analysis, liquid fertilisers and water-based fertiliser delivery, and offered some related advice.
During the 2017 ""Two Sessions"" (the NPC and Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference), Wan Lianbu, Kingentas president, advocated coordination and cooperation on supply-side reform in the fertiliser industry.
A succession of policies favorable to the fertiliser industry, such as those involving gas and electricity prices and tax, has been cancelled against a background of supply-side reform and excess production capacity reduction. This, along with the national plan to decrease fertiliser usage and increase its efficacy, is compelling traditional fertiliser enterprises to transform and/or upgrade, thus bringing new opportunities for the development of new types of fertiliser.
In March 2017, the National Union of Scientific and Technological Innovation for Usage Reduction and Efficiency Improvement of Fertiliser was established in Beijing, spelling the acceleration of both fertiliser efficiency improvements and efforts towards zero-growth in usage through technological and innovative means.
In March 2017, Wengan County announced the construction of two new projects financed through outside investment: a 100 thousand t/a phosphorus trichloride project and a 40 thousand t/a ammonium polyphosphate flame retardant project, a move it has taken to further strengthen its competitiveness in these industries.
In March 2017, Kaiyang County announced a plan to promote transformation and development within the phosphorus coal chemical industry. One of its goals is, by 2020, for the gross value of industrial output from enterprises above a designated size to have reached USD7.27 billion.
In Feb. 2017, Chinas yellow phosphorus market remained steady with an overall low operating rate. It is estimated that Chinas yellow phosphorus market may continue to maintain stability in the short term due to environmental inspections and sluggish downstream demand.
In Feb. 2017, Chinas STPP market maintained steady with a low operating rate, and slight price fluctuations were witnessed in Yunan and Guizhou provinces. CCM is of the opinion that the price of STPP will remain stable in the short term due to the high cost of production and sluggish demand from the downstream washing powder and detergent industries.
