The Project NOAH in the Philippines demonstrates that smart technology can reduce natural disaster risks
Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) is globally recognised and acclaimed as an example of the successful deployment of smart technologies to provide warnings and mitigate the consequences of natural disasters. The project is funded by the Philippines government, but led by a team of experts as an independent project from the state weather bureau. It has developed a range of technologies to detect adverse weather conditions, such as flooding, typhoons, landslides and tidal waves.
